The health and safety of all patrons remain the number one priority, with event specific health, hygiene and density monitoring being implemented. Social Impact Institute will continually be guided by State Government regulations and restrictions at the time of the event in order to ensure our Expo operates as a COVIDSafe event.
Our COVID Safe Event Plan is dependent on advice from QLD Health. As that advice changes, our COVID Safe Event Plan and Conditions of Entry may also change

COVIDSafe Screening Questionnaire
A COVIDSafe Screening Questionnaire will be in effect to ensure that staff and visitors to the Expo are symptom free and have note been in COVID 19 hotspot areas. To view please below:

What happens if I have travelled to a COVID-19 hotspot?
Anyone who has been in a designated COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days will not be permitted to enter the Expo. You should not travel to the expo.
If you have been deemed to be a causal or close contact of a person/s who has COVID-19 you should get tested immediately, self-isolate & not attend the expo.
What should I do if I have symptoms of COVID-19?
Please DO NOT attend the expo if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild. If you are unwell or developed symptoms, such as headache, fatigue, cough, sore throat or runny nose, you should get tested immediately & isolate until you receive a negative result.
Is it safe to attend the 2021 Expo?
The Gold Coast Seniors Expo is COVIDSafe Approved.
A comprehensive COVIDSafe Event Plan has been submitted too and approved by QLD Health to ensure that the Gold Coast Seniors Expo is compliant with all COVIDSafe requirements as directed by the QLD Government & QLD Health. As a result, appropriate COVIDSafe measure have been incorporated into the planning to optimise safety the attendees, exhibitors, staff & volunteers.
Do I have to get a ticket before I come to the Expo?
Yes. To save you time during checkin please register to get a ticket before the event. Entry is FREE! If you have not registered to get a ticket, you can register at the event.

Do I have to sign in when entering the Expo?
Yes. As part of our Conditions of Entry, all visitors will need to sign-in to the event.
Once you have had your entry ticket scanned, you will then scan into the event using a QR code. You will need to provide you First Name, Last name, email address and phone number and answer a number of screening questions.
You will need to scan in and scan out each time you enter or exit the building. This ensures that we do not exceed the capacity caps inside the venue.
Will physical distancing be implemented & maintained?
Yes. There will be a range of initiatives in place, including limiting the number of people within the venue at any one time, restricting attendee numbers visiting exhibitor booths and at the stage; separate entry & exit points. A 1.5m physical distancing guideline is in place at all queuing areas such as registration and the café. Event and Management staff will be overseeing the implementation of these restrictions and providing guidance where required.
How will the stage be monitored?
The total number of speakers and/or performers permitted on stage has been capped at 5x persons at one time. Interaction directly with the audience is prohibited. The 1.5m social distancing will be in practice with regards to audience seating and a 5m exclusion zone will be in place between the stage and seating area.
Will there be increased cleaning?
Yes. There will be increased frequency of surface cleaning & sanitisation conducted by venue cleaners including pre-event, during & post-event cleaning with particular emphasis on high touch points.
Will there be hand sanitisation stations?
Yes. There will be hand sanitisation station at the entry & exit points, in the aisles, at café’s and the stage.
Will there be temperature checks?
Yes. At this time, having temperatures checked is part of the Conditions of Entry. The temperatures of all visitors will be taken upon entry to the venue.
Will there be COVIDSafe Marshals onsite?
Yes. Nominated COVID Safe staff & volunteers will be roaming around the venue to ensure COVIDSafe measure are adhered to and/or provide guidance where required. COVIDSafe Marshals will be identified by high vis vests. Exhibitors are also required to nominate a COVIDSafe Marshals for their booth.
How will we communicate if there is a COVID issue?
If any COVIDSafe issues arise, the organiser will contact QLD Health as per the COVIDSafe Event Plan in place.
Will there be restricted numbers on site?
Yes. The Gold Coast Seniors Expo will run at a reduced capacity as determined by the NSW Government event guidelines at the time of the event. Check in and Check out Software will monitor the number of people inside the venue at all times.
Are face masks compulsory onsite at the Expo?
No. It is not mandatory to wear a face mask onsite during the Gold Coast Seniors Expo. We recommend attendees wear a mask, particularly when interacting with exhibitors within their booth space or when in high traffic areas such as the café or registration areas. Event staff, volunteers and exhibitors are also recommended to wear a mask where physical distancing can not be maintained.
Is the Expo cashless?
Contactless card payment will be available at each point of sale. Although the event is FREE to attend, all visitors must register. Pre-registration is available via the website.

What does it cost to park at the venue?
Parking is free at the Gold Coast Seniors Expo.
What are the measures being put in place to make sure we can come together safely?
Numerous COVIDSafe measures have been initiated, see the list below for more information.
- Directional flow layout to reduce mingling and extent of contact between different groups
- Physical distanced queuing supported with signage, crowd barriers and continually monitored by assigned COVIDSafe Marshals
- Single ‘entry’ & ‘exit’ points for the duration of the event
- Overall maximum capacity will be capped as per state government & QLD Health restrictions in place at the time of the event
- Exhibitor Booths will have both staff and attendee restrictions in place. The number of staff or attendees permitted per booth will be subject to the overall size of the booth. Exhibitors are to have nominated COVIDSafe Marshals to oversee all COVIDSafe measures are adhered too
- Assigned Covid Marshals will be monitoring aisles, exhibitor booths and provide guidance where required
- The stage seating will be set up to ensure they adhere to state government requirements regarding social distancing, this being 1.5m apart and 5m exclusion zone from stage
- Increased venue cleaning, including pre-event, during & post-event cleaning by venue cleaners with particular emphasis on high touch points
- Pre-registration/online ticketing available and encouraged
What option do I have if I can't visit the Expo?
The Gold Coast Seniors Expo is a hybrid event. This means that if you are unable to attend the event face to face, then you are still able to access the event online. Simply register to attend the event as usual. A link, together with instructions on how to download the event app will then be sent to you a few days prior to the event.
